I love beer bread. But, let's face it, sometimes usually you just don't have time to make an actual loaf of the good stuff. But beer biscuits made with Bisquik? Those can be made in about 20 minutes!
I originally got this recipe off of a hand-written card out of one of my mom’s recipe boxes that pre-dates my existence. Recently, however, I saw the same recipe online and it reminded me I just had to make these bad boys sometime soon. I served them with last week's steak and potato kabobs.
Here’s what you’ll need to make about 8 biscuits:
2 cups Bisquick
¼ cup sugar
6 ounces beer
1 tablespoon melted butter
Muffin tin, greased or lined with muffin cups
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix ingredients together and pour into muffin tin. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
(By the way, I had a picture of these, but it seems I accidentally deleted it off of my phone. Just know they looked good but tasted even better.)
I needed an excuse to get a six pack! Have you ever tried a "Shandy" I had them in England. 1/2 beer and 1/2 gingerale....so now its off to try beer biscuits and sip on a cold Shandy while I bake them....dare I say you could be a bad influence in a good way :)
ReplyDeleteI've never had one, but that sounds like a great use for the other 1/2 of the beer! I cook with beer quite a bit - it's such a great marinade base and makes for yummy breads and batters. I hope you like the biscuits! I like to open up the leftovers, spread a little butter on and toast them under the broiler the next morning for breakfast. We call it "biscuit toast" in our family, and it works with any biscuit or roll.
ReplyDeleteOH MY they are awesome biscuits....my Mr is waddling off to work tonight with two in his lunch...and he thought I couldn't make biscuits! Thank you so much...can I keep you a secret LOL! I made a hearty stew so the biscuits sopped up the juice....then there were second helpings of stew so someone could have another biscuit...you see a pattern here?
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I am so glad y'all enjoyed them!
